Semi-structured interviews with faculty who use primary sources in their teaching revealed several key findings: • Training in using primary sources for research and instruction is largely informal and self-taught • Instructors incorporate both rare books and objects and their digital surrogates in their teaching, focusing on the materiality of the physical, along with the research value, particularly for teaching critical thinking, of the digital • Instructors often choose non-traditional capstones when they teach largely with primary sourcesItem Managing Your Academic Identity(2020) Sinn, Robin NItem Supporting Research in Modern Languages and Literature(2019) Burri, Margaret; Herr, Heidi; Keyes, JessicaThis study explored the research habits of faculty in Modern Languages and Literature.Item City People(The Sheridan Libraries, Johns Hopkins University, 2019) Dean, Gabrielle; Thomas, ChristinaItem Accessibility of distance library services for deaf and hard of hearing users(Emerald Publishing Limited, 2018) Stewart, Katherine; Getts, EricaPurpose: This paper aims to review existing literature on distance library services for individuals with disabilities with a specific focus on deaf and hard of hearing (D/HH) users and provide strategies for creating an online library that is accessible to this community. Design/methodology/approach: The authors reviewed articles covering distance library services for D/HH users and then identified specific parts of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 that are applicable to the D/HH community. By using the literature, strategies for developing and purchasing accessible electronic library resources are presented. Findings: While there is a breadth of literature focused on creating accessible resources for online libraries, there is a gap when it comes to D/HH users. Libraries can cater to this community by providing text-based alternatives for all library instructional materials and working closely with vendors to ensure that library databases are accessible. Practical implications: The authors present strategies for creating and converting electronic resources and services that are accessible to D/HH users. Originality/value: This paper fills a gap in literature by addressing fully online library services for users with disabilities with a particular focus on meeting the needs of D/HH users in a distance-learning environment.Item Sharing Your Articles: What Can You Really Do?(2018) Sinn, Robin NItem Halfway Home: User Centered Design and Library Websites.(Information Technology and Libraries, Library and Information Technology Association (LITA), 2018-03-01) Cyzyk, MarkItem Information Technology and Libraries at 50.(Information Technology and Libraries, Library and Information Technology Association (LITA), 2018-03-01) Cyzyk, MarkItem Services for a Customizable Authority Linking Environment (SCALE): NSF Proposal(2002) Crane, Greg; Choudhury, Sayeed; Szalay, AlexanderItem AIHT Proposal(2003) Choudhury, SayeedItem CAPM Cost Analysis(2001) Lorie, MarkItem AIHT Press Release(2004-07-06) Higgins, PamelaItem Portal Functional Requirements Group Meeting(2004-04-06) Choudhury, SayeedItem CAPM: Successful Proposal to Mellon Foundation for First Phase(2007-03-09) Choudhury, SayeedItem CAPM User Benefits Study(2011-05-11) Flores, NicholasItem A Data Capture Framework and Testbed for Cultural Heritage Materials: NSF Proposal(2002-08-22) Choudhury, SayeedItem Digital Audio Archives Project (DAAP) Statement of Work(2004-10-06) Choudhury, SayeedItem Usability Services An Introduction to Web Accessibility(2005-03-24) Anderson, Teal; York, Cynthia
