Anne "Nan" Pinkard was a trustee of Johns Hopkins University and Baltimore philanthropist. Pinkard was the first woman to be elected as a full member of the Johns Hopkins Hospital's board, and served as president of the Johns Hopkins Women's Board at the same time. Pinkard’s father Robert G. Merrick Sr. received undergraduate and doctoral degrees from Hopkins, and was also a university trustee from 1953 to 1968. In this interview, Pinkard discussed her family’s relationship with the Garretts, one of the wealthiest and most prominent families in Maryland. She later goes on to talk about her role on the Women’s Board at Johns Hopkins.
