Abstract
The United States of America lacks a structure or strategy to combat domestic terrorism or white nationalist terrorism. For years, white nationalist terrorism has been on the rise, yet little has been done to properly respond to the growing and evolving threat. This thesis examines the racist history of the United States, how white nationalist groups feed off the systemic racism present in our institutions, the role of social media in the radicalization of domestic terrorists, and finally, proposes a federal statute to criminalize domestic terrorism.
