“JS,” a member of the class of 2023, talks with Liz Beckman about her experiences growing up in Las Vegas, Nevada, her high school education, and her decision to pursue global studies and medicine at Johns Hopkins University. She goes on to discuss her studies of hematology, sickle cell disease, and her study abroad experience in Bahia, Brazil. She also discusses her time as a student leader and activist, her involvement in the Baltimore community, and the systemic issues perpetuated by Hopkins that negatively impact FLI students.
