NON-EXCLUSIVE LICENSE FOR USE OF MATERIALS
Summary of this Agreement
You agree to let Johns Hopkins University:
1. make your ETD available to the public, subject to your access restrictions
2. make copies of your ETD for preservation or distribution purposes
With the understanding that:
1. you retain all intellectual property rights to your ETD other than the exceptions above
2. you have obtained permission to use any copyrighted material in your ETD or you have notified Johns Hopkins about any material for which you have not obtained permission
This non-exclusive license defines the terms for the deposit of an Electronic Thesis or Dissertation, hereafter called ETD, into the collections preserved and made available through the Johns Hopkins University.
The Contributor hereby grants to Johns Hopkins a royalty free, non-exclusive worldwide license to use, re-use, display, distribute, transmit, publish, re-publish or copy the ETD and associated metadata, either digitally or in print, or in any other medium, now or hereafter known, for the purpose of including the ETD hereby licensed in the collection of materials of the Johns Hopkins University. In some cases, access to content may be restricted for a period of time according to provisions established in negotiation with the copyright holder.
This license shall not authorize the commercial use of the ETD by Johns Hopkins or any other person or organization, but such ETD shall be restricted to non-profit use. Persons may apply for commercial use by contacting the copyright holder.
Copyright and any other intellectual property right in or to the ETD shall not be transferred by this agreement and shall remain with the Contributor. Other than this limited license, the Contributor retains all rights, title, copyright and other interest in the ETD.
If the submission contains material copyrighted by a third party, the Contributor represents that s/he has either obtained the permission of the Copyright owner to use the material or is claiming that the material is included under the fair use provision in the copyright law. Please visit the U.S. Copyright Office website http://www.copyright.gov/fls/fl102.html for more information about fair use.
Johns Hopkins will not make any alteration, other than as allowed by this license, to your submission.
This agreement embodies the entire agreement of the parties. No modification of this agreement shall be of any effect unless it is made in writing and signed by all of the parties to the agreement.
